Dead Bhuttos ( an obvious play on Dead Kennedys) play politically charged raw as fuck hardcore punk from Lahore, Pakistan. Featuring members from other groups such as Multinational Corporations and The Kominas, this sounds like it came straight from the 80s! Definitely hear the Black Flag and Discharge influences in there, and even a dash of Celtic Frost during some of the slower parts! I'm just wondering when we'll get more! Cheers!

Nemesis- Imperium (2017)
Nemesis are a 5 piece thrash metal band from Detroit MI, and they fucking rule! "Imperium" fucking rips, and this thing sounds like it was unearthed from the late 80's early 90's. Fuck, if you didn't tell me this was a brand new band I would've thought this shit was put out on Nuclear Blast in like 92' or something. Both songs have these amazing breakdowns in the middle that for me separate them from your typical party thrashers and retro worshipers. Yeah they can thrash, and they've got speed, but they've also got some tasty grooves in there as well. Party on dudes! Cheers!

Weltesser- Crestfallen (2017)
This shit just dropped today on bandcamp. I've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this album, as it is something I've had on my radar since "Rats" was released as a single in late 2016. I discovered Weltesser after I stumbled upon their 2015 Demo. Now after listening to this I can safely say Weltesser is one of my favorite bands right now, and i'd be real fucking surprised if "Crestfallen" didn't make it on everyone's Best of Year End Lists.
Weltesser's influences (as stated on their bandcamp page) include Sabbath, Dystopia, His Hero is Gone, Laudanum, and Monolord and you can hear it loud and well. Every punishing hit from this Florida trio is like a fucking sludge and filth covered mallet bludgeoning you across the head. They are so fucking heavy and miserable! Seriously this is the best Sludge Doom Metal album of the year thus far! Cheers!

Megalodoom- Last Rites (2017)
These self proclaimed "purveyors of utterly miserable riffs" give it their last go around on the aptly named "Last Rites". The EP consists of two songs played as the band describes "kinda sloppy, riddled with mistakes, effects pedals not dialed in properly, and uncomfortably loud". Take notes, this is how you make a great recording! The sound and tones on this EP are dope as fuck. Just really fucking sludgy, fuzzy and loud! I'm not big on instrumental doom, but this caught my attention. It's definitely not super repetitious, and the grooves are catchy as fuck. It makes me wish the band didn't call it quits and stuck around longer! Cheers!

Regress- Rotten Sabbat (2017)

Destroyer of Man- Descent (2017)
Destroyer of Man play dank dark cavernous sludge doom metal from Baltimore. They sound like Neurosis, Yob, and maybe even Crowbar were thrown into a cement mixer, and then poured onto an unsuspecting passerby, creating a deformed monstrosity of a statue. They paint with greys and black only, and i'm definitely digging it. Killer stuff here! Cheers!

Childwife- Self Titled (2017)
With its cringe worthy name, Childwife play sludge with pure fucking hatred from Kathmandu, Nepal. Fans of Grief, Noothgrush, and Dystopia take note, this one is for you. If you want Sabbath, Sleep, and Electric Wizard riffage, pack up your bong and head somewhere else! The only thing that would be better than this EP, is to have a full fucking LP from this band, however their Facebook page says RIP 2015-2016, so it might be too late for that. Cheers!

House Anxiety- Demo (2017)
If I didn't see where these dudes were from on their Bandcamp page, I would of thought the band was from the NOLA scene. Their sound is totally reminiscent of New Orleans Sludge from the 90s. However, these dudes hail from Athens, Greece, and this demo fucking rules. This is exactly what I want to hear when I find a new sludge band. They might as well of released this demo as their first album. It's that fucking good! So if you like your sludge a little less stoned, and more like Black Flag on Xanax, than hit this shit.

Dealer- "AM Gold" Single (2017)
Dealer's Bandcamp tags for their upcoming album Billionaire Boys Club sums up what I heard when I listened to their new single AM Gold. It has the raw early hardcore sound of Black Flag. The Amphetamine Reptile and sludge influence of the Melvins. Then I heard Megadeth. Twice. The singer's vocals sound like a cross between Dave Mustaine and 80s Rob Zombie when White Zombie was a noise rock band. Then there's the part of the this song that sounds eerily similar to a riff from the song Hanger 18.
Am I complaining about all of this? Fuck No! Way to go for throwing all of that into a blender and churning this gem out! You have peaked my interest! I want to hear the rest! Billionaire Boys Club comes out on February 17th.

Telekineti Yeti- "Stoned and Feathered" Single (2016)
The new single from Telekinetic Yeti is fucking dope. The duo sounds like Beast in The Field with more stoner influences and vocals. I bet these dudes are loud as fuck live. Anyway this song rips and I can't wait to listen to the rest of the upcoming album "Abominable" when it arrives on March 17th. Cheers!

Pale Grey Lore- Self Titled (2016)
This came out over the summer, but i'm now getting around to placing this tasty nugget in my bowl. Pale Grey Lore play heavy psych doom rock, with some proto metal and stoner influences as well. Don't let the catchy melodies and pop hooks fool you. There's definitely something sinister going on here, with hints of sabbathian riffage, and early Ghost and Uncle Acid for good measure. Puff and Pass if this seems like your thing. Cheers!
